Setup guide

MAG Box IPTV install guide

Start from the box on your shelf: a portal URL from your login email, the MAC off its label, one restart. Every other screen comes after it, each with a short list of its own.

Leave the message that carries your login open on a second screen. The portal URL and every login detail get copied out of it, and a single wrong character is the usual cause of a blank grid.

Your MAG box and MAG Box IPTV: portal URL plus MAC

Any box from the MAG 250 up to the MAG 524 follows the same routine. It needs no app at all, only an address to load and a MAC that the service can match to your plan.

  1. Start the box, let its home screen finish loading and open the settings menu.
  2. Look for the entry about servers or portals. Firmware versions word it a little differently, but the field you need takes a web address.
  3. Paste or type the portal URL from the email exactly as it was sent. One leading or trailing space ruins it.
  4. Flip the box over. The label carries a twelve-character MAC, and that value is what you register, following the instructions in the email.
  5. Save the entry, back out of settings and reboot, either from the menu or by unplugging the power for a few seconds.
  6. The next boot pulls the portal and fills the screen with the live grid and the movie menu.

Screen still empty? Reboot once more, set the portal URL beside the email and check it again, then check the MAC against the label. If nothing changes, write to [email protected] and name the model and the MAC.

Samsung or LG Smart TV with MAG Box IPTV

These TVs have no portal field of the kind a MAG offers, so a player app plays the portal's part. Try IBO Player first; when your model's store does not list it, IPTV Smarters Pro is the fallback.

  1. Open the TV's store and type the app name into its search box.
  2. After the download finishes, launch the app and choose the sign-in method that matches the details in your email.
  3. Key those details in with the remote's on-screen keyboard and confirm.
  4. Hold on while the channel list downloads for the first time.

Fire TV Stick with MAG Box IPTV

A stick has its own search built in, so you never need a computer: say the app name or spell it out.

  1. From the stick's home row, open search and look for TiviMate. IPTV Smarters Pro works here too.
  2. Download it, open it and add an account with the details from your email.
  3. Allow the first load to complete, then open a live channel to judge the picture.

TiviMate lays channels out like a program guide, while IPTV Smarters Pro leans toward a plain list.

Android TV or Google TV with MAG Box IPTV

Sets and boxes built on Android TV or Google TV pull apps from their own store, which keeps the whole job on the television.

  1. Search the store for TiviMate. Prefer a different layout? Look for IBO Player instead.
  2. Once it is installed, start it and give it the login details from your email when it asks for a source.
  3. Let the opening load finish before you start flipping channels.

Apple TV with MAG Box IPTV

The Apple TV store holds the players you need, so no cable and no computer are involved.

  1. Search the Apple TV store for IBO Player. IPTV Smarters Pro is the alternative.
  2. Open the app you downloaded and type in the details from your email.
  3. Wait for the list to build, then choose a live channel.

Typing with the Siri remote is slow. Go letter by letter and read each line again before you save it.

iPhone or iPad with MAG Box IPTV

A quick way to test the account, because the email is already on the same device and long details can be pasted rather than typed.

  1. Find IPTV Smarters Pro in the store on your iPhone or iPad. IBO Player is the second choice.
  2. Copy the login details from the email, switch to the app and paste them in.
  3. Save the entry and wait for the channels to appear.

An Android phone or tablet with MAG Box IPTV

All three players run here, so choose the layout that reads best on your screen size.

  1. Search the store for IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or IBO Player and download one.
  2. Paste in the login details from the email.
  3. Give the app a moment to fetch the channels, then tap one to begin.

Windows or Mac with MAG Box IPTV

A computer suits a second monitor or a desk setup. Use the app from the list that offers a desktop version; IPTV Smarters Pro is the usual pick.

  1. Get the app from its official page or from your computer's own store.
  2. Run the installer, start the app and enter your login details.
  3. When the channel list has loaded, click any live channel to begin playback.

The three players that work with MAG Box IPTV

Every screen except the MAG uses one of three players. They accept the same login details, so switching later costs nothing but a few minutes.

  • IBO Player
  • TiviMate
  • IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro

Turns up on the widest mix of screens here: sticks, TVs, phones, tablets and computers.

TiviMate

Built around a program-guide grid, a natural match for Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV Stick.

IBO Player

A plain player that smart TVs, Apple devices and phones can run.

Questions

MAG Box IPTV setup questions

Which screens can run MAG Box IPTV?

MAG set-top boxes from the 250 to the 524 take the portal route. Every other screen on this page, from smart TVs and sticks to phones and computers, plays through one of three player apps.

Where do I find the portal URL for MAG Box IPTV?

It is printed in the login email that arrives after checkout. Copy it from there rather than retyping it, since the box reads the address character by character.

What if my MAG screen stays empty after I set up MAG Box IPTV?

Restart the box once more, then compare the portal URL with the email letter for letter and the MAC with the sticker underneath. If the grid is still empty, write to support with the model name and the MAC.

Do I need to download an app on a MAG box?

No. A MAG loads its channels from the portal address saved in its settings, so there is nothing to download. Only the other screens need a player app.

Who helps if a player app refuses my details?

Email [email protected] with the device name, the app you picked and the wording of the message on screen. A short list of the steps you took speeds things up.
